RoHS Exemptions List Available on the Web
21 August 2006—Distributor Farnell InOne has published a list of RoHS exempt products that it claims is as comprehensive as any currently available on the Internet. The area of RoHS exemptions continues to be an important issue for companies looking to comply with the European Union directive, which came into force in July. Finding out which products and items are exempt from the RoHS directive is an area of some debate at present.
The distributor has been working with ERA Technology, which itself has worked with the European Commission, to create an online record of exemptions, including those formally approved, those rejected, any in limbo and ones requested but still pending.
