California SB20/SB50

California Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 (SB20) establishes a fee, to be paid by the consumer and collected by the retailer on all brands of designated covered electronic devices sold in California. The fee applies to electronic devices purchased in, or shipped to California on the first sales in California of this device. The list of covered electronic devices proposed by the Calfironia Department of Toxic Substances Control under SB20 is:

Senate Bill 50 (SB50), signed to law effective January 1, 2005 is an amendment of the California Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 (SB20) to provide clarification of certain provisions of SB20.
