Joel Jacobs is the Vice President, Operations at Millennium 3000 Ltd ("Millennium"). Mr. Jacobs, an engineer by training, works with CE manufacturers and retailers to ensure maximum recovery on their customer returns. He has 8 years of experience handling returns in the consumer electronics industry. Prior to working in the electronics industry, Mr. Jacobs was the general manager and later a vice president at a chain of retail automotive repair centers for 12 years. This provided him with hands-on experience in the retail field.
Mr. Jacobs demonstrates to CE manufacturers and retailers how to maximize the recovery on returns through North American refurbishing (rather than RTV); how to maintain quality in the refurbishing process to protect their trademarks; and how to sell the refurbished products -- without having a negative effect on the markets for their new products. He also shows manufacturers and retailers how Millennium 3000 can handle their entire returns process – controlling the entire process -- and greatly increasing the recovery rates.
In his spare time, Joel is a private pilot, a scuba diver, a skier, a history buff and an avid exerciser.
The Consumer Electronics Committee is organized to promote and share knowledge across the industry and continually explore new ideas to achieve total optimization of Consumer Electronics reverse logistics practices including green procurement, product returns processes, refurbishing and depot repair (as applicable), reverse logistics to maximize recycling, minimize waste, and emphasize green disposal. The committee will strive to improve awareness across organizations through education, workshops, white papers, and direct communication on best practices, development of standards, common practice and member experiences.
